How much does it cost to transfer funds from a HSBC Business Account to another account?
The demands of our business mean we have to electronically transfer money from our business account frequently, so we're looking at what to do.

What happens when someone tries to pay your wages into a bank account which is closed?
What happens when someone tries to pay your wages into a bank account which is closed?
I closed my bank account about a month ago. I just got my payslip from the agency I work for and it is dated that they 'paid in' my wages to the closed account on the 22nd. What would happen? Would the bank send me a cheque or try and contact me to tell me?

Bank should notice the agency and cancel the direct-deposit .

Not sure how things work in the UK, but in the US, it automatically reopens the bank account. The bank usually just sends a routine monthly statement showing the transaction.

It's very likely your employer transfers payments via BACS system to your bank; any incorrect or closed accounts do not accept money and it is credited back to the employers account; Talk to the accountants section at your employer, the money should be sat in their account.

How do I transfer money from my bank straight into my paypal account?
How do I transfer money from my bank straight into my paypal account?
Or how do I link up my bank account directly to my paypal account please? I'm tryin to get funds into my paypal account quick, the auction ends soon and I don't want to keep the seller waitin whilst it takes 7-9 days to transfer. Isnt there a faster way to add funds to your paypal account? Or have the funds taken directly from your bank?

You need to set up a paypal account and then ask paypal to take it out from your bank account.

Do you have a credit or debit card? If you add that to your paypal account, you can pay with your bank acct and the seller won't have to wait for the money because they use the credit card as a backup source if the bank transfer doesn't clear.

My boyfriend has a problem with his wages cheques. Before he changed his job, he was paid on my bank account (different surname) without any problems, because he hasnt got his own bank account. Now his new emplyer requires a bank account on HIS name. They gave him a cheque on HIS name and we dont know how to cash it now. And there are also difficulties with opening an account for him, cause every utility bill (which banks require) is on MY name. What shall we do?

easy. have him acquire one of those prepaid visa or mastercards;prepaid credit cards. try rushcard from rushcard.com. they allow direct deposits to be directly loaded onto the cards. to cash pay checks, have him go to a payday loan company. they cash all checks for a fee.

he should go to the bank where the check came from. if he has some valid IDs, they would encash it

I suggest you ask the employer to issue a cheque with the words 'please pay cash' written across the bottom and initialled by the person who signs the cheque. Then you can take it to the bank it is drawn on (the employer's bank) and they will cash it over the counter for you. You may need to produce ID.

Is it a crossed check (for payee's account only)? If it is, try flower_82's suggestions. However if it is not crossed, your friend can encash it over the counter at drawee bank if he has valid IDs (I'm sure he has).

Go into a bank and ask what alternative forms of ID are acceptable. You may have to ring the head office because the moron in the bank knows nothing and cares even less. ( I know, I've been there - you ask a question and it is met with a vacant stare - she goes away for 10 minutes, comes back and she has asked the wrong question!). If you use a prepaid credit/debit card for your boyfriends wages, they will make a charge of around £4.95 a month handling charge and £2.50 everytime he uses an ATM to get his money out. Expensive eh?.
