How long does it take to open a bank account?

How long does it take to open a bank account?
Hi, I'm about to apply for a bank account with the Bank Of Scotland. I was wondering how long it will take for this account to become active after applying and, equally as important, when I will receive my Visa Electron card? N.B. I'm not transferring from any other accounts, I'm just starting as new. Thanks.

Answer 1 :
it should be a quick process
Answer 2 :
You should call them and ask them as they know best how to answer you. Each bank may have different things.
Answer 3 :
duno if they give u a visa straight away, mite be a cashcard 1st take about 8 weeks if ur doing it online, bout 2-3 weeks in branch
Answer 4 :
idk maybe a few yrs
Answer 5 :
Well if your opening an every day run of the mill banking account, it should only take about 30 mins an its a great idea an good way to control your money but I wouldn't get into the direct bill pay cause they take the money right out of your account even if its not thier leaveing you broke an owning a fine for insuffisiant funds, unless money isnt an issue an 2nd make sure to keep money at home cause you never know whats going to happen...
Answer 6 :
Just minutes to open a bank account. Bring photo ID and 2 utility bills addressed to you, as proof of residence. A current account will probably give you a debit card at first. Ask for it if they don't offer it. It will come by mail within a week or so, and the individual PIN will come by separate mail, but your account will be active from the minute you deposit money in. Visa Electron is a debit card, and you have to have the money already in your account to be able to use it - you can't go overdrawn. Just make sure you keep enough money in the account, and you will be fine.
Answer 7 :
Providing you take the correct ID they should be able to open your account the same day. Card and pin takes around 7 days

How many violation notice would get your account suspended?

How many violation notice would get your account suspended?

Answer 1 :
more than 3, thats all i can say for sure.
Answer 2 :
Yeah your account can get deleted. Mine got deleted because I answered this one persons question about watching new movies online. The site is technically illegal. I didnt like even get a freakin warning just "sorry your account has been suspended" then they told me I wasnt eligible for my account to be reinstated. Wahhh so many best answers lost forever ;_;
Answer 3 :
There is no exact number, since accounts are reviewed individually. One major TOS violation will get you suspended immediately with no warning. Many minor violations over a year will not get you suspended, but those same violations in a couple of days will. YA has always said that EACH violation is a warning your account is under review and the next violation may be the one that puts you over the top. Suspensions are forever, unless you can convince them they made a mistake in applying the rules and that you didn't violate the rules. Not only can your YA account be deleted, but if a bad violation, all your Yahoo accounts including email can go "poof".

How to transfer Gamerscore from one account to another account on Xbox?

How to transfer Gamerscore from one account to another account on Xbox?
Hi, just so you know, I have around 2300 Gamerscore on my first account (which does not have Xbox Live). When I got Xbox Live, I had to create a new one for some reason, now I have two accounts one with 2300G and one with 400G, how do I transfer the 2300G from my non-Xbox Live account to my new Xbox Live account with the 400G? Thanks

Answer 1 :
maybe by transferring the xbox live you have on your 400G to the other one.
Answer 2 :
Bad news... You cant transfer the gamerscore. It is going to be only on that one account. The reason you couldnt use that gamertag on live is because it was probably already taken by somebody else on live. The only thing you might be able to do, is to ask to has your gamertag changed (it costs $10 i think) and then you will need to buy xbox live on that account. It will be cheaper, but take longer, but you will just have to start from scratch on your new account... Sorry dude.

How can I conveniently account for inflation in a will?

How can I conveniently account for inflation in a will?
When writing a contract, say I want to include a clause that references the value of a thousand pounds in today's money. Since that same money is going to be worth less in a few years' time, I need what I write to take account of inflation. What's the easiest way to word that?

Answer 1 :
1000 pounds indexed for inflation using January 2009 as the base year. However if you're putting it in a will, this wording will not work unless you actually have 1000 pounds now and are willing to add to it at the rate of inflation. The way a will works is to direct how your assets will be divided when you die. If 1000 pounds, indexed for inflation, equals 1500 pounds when you die, but you only have 1200 pounds, the benefactor will not receive 1500, only 1200. So be careful what you write, or the 1000 pounds will just go to paying the legal bills of your estate. Your best bet is to re-write your will periodically, and keep it updated with changes in your life. Then you can have precise control over who gets what.
