Hey people..I used to live in a property in Leeds and when I moved to my new house I informed British gas that I am moving and gave them my new address for futrure correspondence but for some reason they kept on writing me on my old address for outstanding bills. I only came to realize that I owe some money to British gas when I check my credit report after 1 year. I have cleaerd the payments but it stays on my credit report as 'Satisfied payment' . I just got refused from couple of banks for job becasue my credit history has those two default cases. how can i get rid of those default accounts on my credit report??

Answer 1 :
pay your bills and call yhe reporting agency tell them they have been paid off and they will remove them
Answer 2 :
they wont take it off till theyre good and ready Mtge companies in USA LOOK back three years on credit.
Answer 3 :
Go apply for your free credit report online challenge it as inaccurate they have 30 or 60 days to reply if they don't reply to the credit agency then they will take it off your record (it's worth a try) otherwise it will roll off in 7 years sorry that's the best I can do.
Answer 4 :
Unfortunately you cant unless you can prove that they are there erroneously. However, they only show up on your credit report for 3 years. After that they are still there, but not common knowledge and not used for any sort of references.
Answer 5 :
only british gas or the county court can order the credit reference agency to remove these entries. write the chairman at british gas explaining the error and demanding the removal of these entries with confirmation in writing. once they've confirmed removal do your own credit search using only experian or equifax (banks don't use anyone else).

How long do I need to wait before adding my bank details to a new Paypal account?
I had an old paypal account that I don't want to use anymore. I removed the Sort and account number, and tried to add it to another Paypal account but it wasn't accepted. How long do I need to wait before the record of my bank details are deleted so I can add them new a new Paypal account?

Why do you have more than one PayPal account (that is not allowed unless one is a business account)? Payment sources can only be associated with one personal account, and even if you remove sources from an account, they are still associated with that account, in case of any ongoing issues. That is to prevent people who have a bad reputation, or who have been banned, from simply opening another PayPal account. I even discovered that one credit card cannot even be used to confirm more than one address (the card issuer has both my PO Box and work addresses). So I had to use a different card to confirm my PO Box for postal deliveries. What did PayPal say when you asked them?

What does a current account mean in terms of a bank account?

What does a current account mean in terms of a bank account?
What facilities must it have before it can be called a current account?

Answer 1 :
Typically, a current account is the account where you get your money paid in, and bills paid out. It needs to be able to provide; A cheque book, A cheque gurantee/debit card, and standing orders/direct debits. It is worth noting, however, that you do not necessarily get all of the above features straight away. The bank may decide not to issue you with a debit card until your account has been running properly for six months, or may not allow cheques during the first six months, but, the facility is available. You may even need to ask the bank for a debit card before they will issue one. It is called a "current account" because it is where all your "current" banking activity takes place. It doesn't generally pay any intrest, and is not intended as a place to hold your savings. There are also "Basic" accounts, which people often confuse with current accounts, though these accounts only allow money (pensions, Jobseeker's Allownace etc.) to be paid in, and drawn as cash in person. These accounts don't provide the facilities listed above.
Answer 2 :
current account means you can take out at a moments notice what you have in your account, but there is normaly very little interest on your money in that account, any spare cash needs to be put into a savings account for the higher interest rate
Answer 3 :
I thought that the term "current account" is what the British use to describe what the Americans call a "checking account."
Answer 4 :
there are no strict guidelines - however, it depends on the Bank concerned. In general, the larger banks will offer Immediate Acces (with no penalties). No provision for Overdraft - but hefty charges if you go overdrawn. A poor rate of interest - although some will offer a 6 month enhancement. Some offer free banking, but charge for cheques. Shop around. There is a lot of competition out there. A Bank will tempt you with many offers, just to get your money in their clutches at a very low rate of interest. Good luck. I wish you success.
Answer 5 :
You can open a current account with a bank for the purpose of using cheques to pay your creditors instead of paying them in cash. Or to withdraw on the current account whenever you require cash, so that you need not have to carry too much cash with you. You need to apply by using the bank's current account application form and the bank may want an introducer in order to open it and also require you to pay a minimum amount of money into the account so that you can operate it using cheques supplied to you.
Answer 6 :
well with a current account is a account where a basic intrest rate is applyed applied and there is a debit card supplied to the account.
