Answer 1 :
Degree
Answer 2 :
No degree needed, just high school diploma and no criminal history.
Answer 3 :
If you just want to be a teller, I don't think you necessarily need to have any particular financial background. If you want to be a "true" banker (ie. the people who work at the desks and help you open accounts and manage your money and your mortgage), an degree in business, particularly in accounting or finance, is sort of required.
Answer 4 :
A levels, and a General certificate of education
Answer 5 :
You don't need a degree unless you're hoping to enter at a higher level e.g. management. If you're happy working your way up the ladder then college qualifications should be fine. Check their website, it should tell you what you need for each position
Answer 6 :
You need to look up the bank's selection criteria. Some ask for a minimum of 2.1, but some just require a certain number of UCAS points. My advice is to do the research and check what qualifications are required. Careers fairs are always useful (and not to mention you get freebies, nice!)

Answer 10 :
Depending on the position that you wish to attain at a banking institution, you may or may not need a college degree. If you are looking for an entry level position, then you may be able to start as a teller, receptionist, or call center representative with a high school diploma. Although you do need certain other qualifications to fit the profile. You should have typing or computer skills, and previous cash register and cash handling skills are a plus. You should have a neat appearance, and professional clothing. Sales experience is also good for your resume, as selling banking products is a big part of most positions in a bank. Teller's are often required to make referrals to customer service representatives and managers because they are the first, and sometimes only personal contact that customers have with their bank. You should also be made aware that a banking institution will check your credit report when considering you for a job. While business management and accounting degrees will help you land a higher ranking position, you can also work your way up from within the company. Some banks offer in house training, although some travel may be involved.

I started as a grad with a bank - but there were lots of people who started as a teller or in opperations and work there way up. Also Banking means lots of things - do you want to do retail ? or Business ? or Loans ? look on there websites and see about positions. They will give you training. I had a degree in Economics and Finance
Answer 12 :
Accounting is good, but i know a boy who started working in a bank straight after secondary school
Answer 13 :
Well on the barclays website they don't ask for anything and you can go there straight from school, they train you up etc http://www.personal.barclays.co.uk/BRC1/jsp/brccontrol?task=articleFWabout&value=13434&target=_self&site=pfs
Answer 14 :
I suggest you do a little written research. Something like this------Barclays Bank, Dear Manager, I am planning to study accounting as I hope to work within the Barclays Bank. I would like to kow what qualifications or degrees I need that will help an application for employment. Also at what age will I be able to apply for employment with the bank. Now the bank will show an interest in your future because you have introduced yourself NOW. (RSA commercial Science might be useful?)
Answer 15 :
You need a degree. Im sure you don't want to be a teller in the bank. Tellers don't have to have degree. High School is enough. I don't thinks is how old but what you know and your ability to perform. The qualifications needed to work in a bank are Accountant, Business Manager, Economics with emphasis in Management, Bilinguist etc. But you have to have degree from Business College. So courses in Business Colleges are highly needed since it involves Money.
